Main Tasks
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and execution strategies for finishing and upholstery projects
Coordinate with designers, vendors, and production teams to align project objectives with design and quality standards
Oversee the installation of upholstery, surface finishes, and other final touches on furniture and interior projects
Provide technical expertise in finishing techniques such as sanding, polishing, staining, varnishing, and upholstery methods
Ensure that all finishing materials (paints, varnishes, textiles, etc.) and upholstery components mee quality and durability standards
Review designs and offer technical solutions to improve cost efficiency and product quality
Implement and maintain quality control processes throughout the finishing and upholstery stages
Conduct inspections to ensure that the final product meets the project’s aesthetic and functional specifications
Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the finishing or upholstery process and recommend solutions
Source and evaluate vendors for finishing materials, upholstery fabrics and related services
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials
Monitor progress on-site and in production facilities to ensure the project stays on track and meets deadlines
Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed in all processes
Report regularly to the Project Manager on project status, delays, and any potential issues
Assist in preparing project budgets and ensure that all work stays within budgetary constraints
Monitor costs related to finishing and upholstery materials, labor, and equipment usage
Identify areas where cost savings can be achieved without compromising quality.
Work closely with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Provide guidance and training to technicians and workers involved in the finishing and upholstery process.
Foster a collaborative work environment to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Proven experience (4-8 years) in finishing and furniture upholstery within the furniture or interior design industry.
Strong understanding of furniture construction, upholstery techniques, and finishing materials.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
