Senior Microsoft SQL Server DBA

- Design and maintain new and existing databases for system applications.
- Support analysts, architects, and administrators in evaluating technical requirements and developing database models for building and integrating new information systems.
- Designs and implements database architectures and their related capacity planning.
- Run diagnostic tests, and create backup measures to restore data and prevent information loss.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive database management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of database systems.
- Implement effective database monitoring, tuning, and optimization strategies to maintain optimal performance, disk usage, and availability.
- Coordinate and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery and business continuity plan for the organization's critical database systems.
- Accountable for database proper backup and disaster recovery procedures incorporation with Systems Infrastructure teams.
- Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including access controls, data encryption, and audit logging.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, data privacy laws, and organizational security policies.
- Collaborate with the information security team to address vulnerabilities, implement security patches, and respond to security incidents.
- Develop and enforce database security best practices and guidelines across the organization.
- Participate in the planning and execution of database-related projects, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Manage the impact of database changes, including system upgrades, schema modifications, and data migration, through effective communication, change management practices, and promote changes to production.
- Configure, install, test, and maintain databases and their associated software such as version upgrades, patches, and tools.
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure the seamless integration of database solutions with new and existing systems.
- Ability to closely work with System Administrators and application managers for continuing support of databases.
- Facilitate the timely resolution of database-related incidents and problems, minimizing the impact on business operations.


- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.- 3-5 years of experience working with SQL Server databases.- Proficiency in T-SQL programming and database design.- Must have experience in administering database platform-specific advanced features (g. clustering, encryption, logical/physical standby, ETL, replication) and performance optimizing server database servers and SQL code.- Writing and improving SQL Server T-SQL queries- Proficient in MS SQL Server 2014 - 2019.- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Data Management and Analytics or Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional are a plus.- Experience in project management, change management, and incident/problem management.- Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and best practices.
