Accounts Receivable Accountant - Construction/Contracting

  • Progress Payment Certificates: Prepare and process progress payment certificates periodically in alignment with project milestones.
  • Purchase Order Monitoring: Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure accurate data recording.
  • Financial Invoices: Prepare and issue financial invoices periodically based on approved contracts.
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and prepare necessary financial reports regularly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collection Monitoring: Review and follow up on cash and credit sales collections from debtors to ensure timely payments.
  • Invoice Review: Ensure that all invoices comply with the approved pricing list.
  • VAT Compliance: Review VAT applicability for sold items, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and accurate VAT reporting.
  • Client Visits: Conduct regular client visits to reconcile outstanding balances and verify accuracy.
  • Accounts Reconciliation: Manage the archiving and review of files related to accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure activities align with company policies, procedures, and regulations to facilitate timely client payments.
  • Monthly & Annual Closing: Review and verify the accuracy of monthly and annual closing reports related to revenue accounts and debtors, making adjustments as necessary.
  • VAT Declaration: Prepare and process periodic VAT declarations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and relevant financial regulations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as requested by the company.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5-7 years of experience in an accounts receivable or finance role, preferably within the construction and contracting industry.Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and financial reporting.Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.In-depth knowledge of financial compliance, company policies, and industry standards.
