Pricing Analyst – Actuarial

  • Conduct pricing analysis for new and existing group life and medical  insurance products, ensuring premium calculations are accurate and competitive.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial pricing models specifically for group life and medical insurance products, utilizing statistical techniques and programming tools (e.g., R, Python, Excel).
  • Analyze data related to claims, demographic trends, and market competitiveness to inform pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, sales, and finance, to align pricing with overall business objectives and risk management guidelines.
  • Prepare pricing proposals, including documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and expected outcomes for review by stakeholders.
  • Monitor the performance of group products, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
  • Support regulatory filings and compliance efforts related to pricing, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Communicate pricing strategies and analyses effectively through reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market changes, and regulatory developments, incorporating insights into pricing strategies.

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.Progress towards actuarial certification (e.g., Associate or Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries) is preferred, or a strong commitment to achieving certification.1-2 years of experience in actuarial or pricing analysis, specifically within group life and medical insurance or related fields.Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and experience with actuarial modeling software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Excel).Solid understanding of group insurance products and market practices.Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating initiative and ownership of tasks.
