Job Purpose
Role is reporting to Senior Finance Operations Manager O2C/Trade for setting the direction, establishing strategies, goals and objectives for SSC O2C organization. This role will be accountable for ensuring results at each of SSC operating units. As a member of the SSC Leadership team, this position is critical to the success of SSC by providing leadership in financial governance, controls and in driving operational excellence. This position partners SSC Director, CFOs, Controllers and finance co-pilots across to provide world class accounting services, drive process and system efficiencies while improving accuracy and reducing costs.
Role will drive operations for the Credit administration, collections, cash application processes, AR related management reporting. This role will be accountable for delivering high quality results exceeding all KPI targets. In addition, Role will play a key role in the S&F financial operations transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Shared Services Performance
- Responsible for setting the direction, establishing strategies, goals and objectives for the MGS Finance Credit administration, collections, cash application processes, AR related management reporting to achieve periodic collections target, reducing & reviewing Customer deductions, clearing over dues and manage all Customer sub ledger closing.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLA) and customer expectations for Order to Cash process areas.
- Communicate metrics to relevant stakeholders to highlight issues, identify root causes, and solve in conjunction with other functional process owners. Facilitate effective communications across supported business units.
- Establish the optimal organizational design, processes and procedures to achieve Mars Financial Services objectives.
- Take an active role as a business leader within the team and support the overall objectives of the business mainly to deliver improvement in working capital of the company
Continues Improvement & Transition
- Identify, develop, and implement best practice procedures for O2C, constantly looking to external companies to benchmark performance and bring back new ideas for superior processes.
- Make recommendation to Global Business Process Owner on continuous improvement of established processes and procedures, design new processes to ensure that accounting and internal control requirements are met for O2C.
- Drive process and service delivery standardization across business units to drive efficiencies.
- Work with the Order to Cash GPO and Finance Transformation Team around the development of standards, new service offerings and sharing of best practices in service of continuous improvement in global record to report.
Internal Controls & Governance
- Ensure balance sheet preparation is up to the quality standard for all O2C areas.
- Manage the O2C processes ensuring compliance to finance manual
GLM
- The Senior Manager’s responsibilities are carried out through a team of 8 direct reports
- Manage all O2C staff, including hiring, training, distribution of workload, coaching and organization structure to ensure development of associates.
- Manage and develop highly engaged associates.
- Manage and develop highly engaged MGS Finance associates through proper performance and development discussions, follow-up sessions, and continual training opportunities.
Knowledge & Experience
Education (Minimum Needed):
Master degree accounting/finance or business required, MBA/CPA preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Experience (Minimum Needed):
8-11 years
Specialized Knowledge Needed to Perform the Role:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting & finance, including significant experience in financial processes and controls
- Advanced knowledge of Financial Accounting and reporting (US GAAP), including P&L, B/S, Source and Use of Cash required
- End user experience with SAP, advanced Excel
- Demonstrated success in financial process implementation, transformation or continuous improvement
- Experience with and comfort around higher management
- Excellent understanding of the Mars culture and operating philosophy
- Strong people skills and be an agile thinker
- Excellent track record in building effective teams and developing direct reports, especially with strong functional/technical requirements
