Job Objective:
To lead and execute research and development projects aimed at improving existing products and developing new ones that align with market needs, while ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards. The role also involves optimizing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development:
- Supervise the development of new processed meat and poultry products from concept to commercial production.
- Review and improve existing products to enhance flavor, texture, and nutritional value.
- Test and experiment with new formulations to ensure a competitive edge in the market.
2. Process Innovation and Optimization:
- Work on enhancing production processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency without compromising product quality.
- Stay updated with the latest innovations and technologies in the food manufacturing sector and implement them.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure product compatibility with production lines.
3. Quality Assurance and Food Safety:
- Ensure all developed products comply with local and international quality and food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure products meet health and safety regulations.
4. Project Management:
- Lead and manage R&D projects, ensuring their timely execution within set timelines.
- Prepare periodic reports on project progress and share them with senior management.
5. Market Research and Trends:
- Monitor market trends and analyze consumer needs to propose innovative product development ideas.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to gather customer feedback and improve products accordingly.
6. Team Management:
- Supervise the R&D team and guide them to achieve set objectives.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their technical and creative skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.Additional certifications in product development or quality management are a plus.Minimum of 4 years of experience in R&D within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in meat and poultry processing.Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.Solid knowledge of food manufacturing technologies and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).Proficiency in data analysis tools and R&D management software.Leadership and team management capabilities.Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
