Key Responsibilities:
Shipment Process and Forwarder/Customs Interactions:
- Shipment Planning and Execution:
- Coordinate with freight forwarders to book and manage shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation.
- Prepare and submit all necessary export documentation, including customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
- Monitor shipments in transit, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Customs Clearance:
- Liaise with customs authorities to ensure smooth clearance of shipments, complying with all regulations and requirements.
- Address customs queries and disputes promptly.
- Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Negotiate favorable rates and terms for shipping and clearance services.
- Cost Optimization:
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce shipping costs, such as exploring alternative routes or negotiating better rates.
- Monitor and analyze freight costs to identify areas for improvement.
- Risk Mitigation:
- Assess and mitigate potential shipment risks, such as delays, damages, or non-compliance.
- Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Track and analyze shipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports on logistics activities, including shipment costs, transit times, and customs clearance procedures.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.1-2 years of experience in logistics, preferably in the food and beverage industry.Strong understanding of export procedures and documentation requirements.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred.
