Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and contributing to the company’s overall growth strategy. The specialist will work closely with the business development team to research markets, generate leads, and support partnership efforts with educational institutions, government bodies, and corporations. The role also involves supporting marketing initiatives and tracking business development performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation and Research:
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, including potential clients, partners, and emerging markets.
- Generate and qualify leads through research, networking, and inbound inquiries.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to identify potential areas for business growth.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Reach out to potential partners and clients via phone, email, and networking events to introduce Sprints' offerings and initiate discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and how Sprints can address them.
- Support the development of strategic partnerships with educational institutions, enterprises, and government entities.
Sales and Business Development Support:
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and business development materials to present to prospective clients and partners.
- Work closely with the business development team to support the creation and execution of sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to ensure that Sprints’ offerings align with market demands and customer expectations.
Partnership Development:
- Assist in establishing partnerships with educational institutions, corporate clients, and government bodies for training and workforce development programs.
- Support the execution of agreements and contracts, ensuring alignment with Sprints’ goals and objectives.
- Identify co-branding opportunities and collaborate with partners for mutual business growth.
Event Participation and Representation:
- Represent Sprints at relevant industry events, trade shows, career fairs, and conferences to promote its services and expand the company’s network.
- Organize and participate in webinars, workshops, and networking events to engage potential clients and partners.
Reporting and Performance Tracking:
- Maintain records of all interactions with potential clients and partners, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM system.
- Track and analyze business development activities, providing regular reports on progress, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in the EdTech Industry or Technology sector.Strong understanding of the education and technology markets, with experience in building relationships and partnerships.Proven ability to generate leads and close deals.Familiarity with CRM software and other business development tools.Skills and Competencies:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and partners.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct research, interpret data, and develop actionable insights.Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.Work Environment:This role may require occasional travel to attend meetings, events, and networking functions.Flexibility to work remotely or in-office, depending on company policies and team needs.
