The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards. The MEP Engineer will work closely with the project team to deliver systems that are efficient, sustainable, and within budget.
Execution, Design and Planning:
· Develop detailed MEP system designs based on project specifications, client needs, and industry standards.
· Create and review technical drawings, specifications, Shop drawings and plans for MEP systems using design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
· Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure MEP systems integrate seamlessly with the overall project design.
Project Implementation:
· Oversee the daily execution, installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
· Conduct regular daily routine site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of MEP installations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to MEP systems during the construction phase.
Collaboration and Coordination:
· Work closely with the project management team to align MEP work with project timelines and milestones.
· Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
· Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams and subcontractors.
Quality Control and Compliance:
· Ensure all MEP systems comply with local building Standard codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
· Perform tests and inspections to verify the functionality and safety of MEP installations with technical responsibility for inspection and test results.
· Document all work processes and prepare reports on project progress and any issues encountered.
Sustainability and Innovation:
· Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable practices in MEP designs and installations.
· Stay updated on the latest technologies and innovations in MEP systems to enhance project outcomes.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
Experience:
· Minimum of (5-7) years of experience in MEP engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
Skills:
· Proficiency in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM)
Site Environment:
· The role involves working on construction sites, which may include exposure to various weather conditions and construction-related noise.
· On-site presence is required for inspections, coordination, and troubleshooting, which may involve working in confined or elevated spaces.
Hours:
