Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager to lead the development of a safety-first culture in our new manufacturing plant. This role is critical in ensuring a strong HSE foundation, overseeing contractor work, managing civil defense legalizations, and setting up comprehensive onboarding programs for our blue-collar workforce before production begins. The HSE Manager will also play a key role in ensuring all operations are compliant with legal standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build the Safety Culture: Establish and promote a strong safety culture from the plant’s early stages, ensuring that safety is a priority in all operations.
• Contractor Oversight: Attend and oversee all contractor works, ensuring adherence to HSE standards during construction, installation, and equipment setup.
• Civil Defense & Legalization: Ensure all civil defense regulations are met and maintain compliance with local legal requirements for safety and environmental standards.
• Blue-Collar HSE Onboarding: Develop and implement HSE onboarding programs for blue-collar workers before production commences, ensuring all employees are trained in safety protocols, proper equipment handling, and emergency procedures.
• Risk Management & Audits: Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe work environment during both construction and operational phases.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response procedures, ensuring that all safety equipment is in place and up-to-date.
• Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure ongoing compliance with HSE laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor HSE performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental management.
• Safety Communication: Promote safety awareness through workshops, training sessions, and continuous communication to all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in HSE management, with a strong background in manufacturing or automotive industries.
• Experience in developing and leading HSE programs from the ground up, especially during the construction and early production phases.
• Solid knowledge of civil defense regulations, legal safety standards, and contractor management.
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant HSE standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training skills, particularly in blue-collar environments.
• Proficiency in conducting HSE onboarding programs, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
