We are looking for motivated, lateral thinkers in Cairo to join the GOALS team. The GOALS team is comprised of legal professionals We are a community of regionally situated members who are globally mobilised to bring diversity of thought, skills, and background to the wider legal team.
Your primary role will be to review professional services agreements, corporate procurement contracts and legal translation services (English-Arabic) to our Middle East and Africa businesses. You may also be involved in other international contract reviews or Legal team initiatives and projects.
You will be provided with ongoing training, supervision and development opportunities, and will be encouraged to bring any previous experience to the team. Responsibilities
- Reviewing a wide variety of professional services agreements and corporate procurement contracts.
- Conducting English to Arabic and Arabic to English legal translations.
- Supporting on a variety of internal projects, including preparing and delivering training, updating precedent documents, case law updates and bulletins.
- Providing support to the litigation team.
- Supporting our desire to modernise the global legal team, by using technology and working with data and metrics
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in law
- Minimum of 3 years’ working in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Previous experience working in a legal or commercial setting and conducting contract reviews
- Experience in the professional services arena, in particular design, engineering or construction
- Bilingual in English and Arabic (oral and written)
- Experience with legal translation (Arabic to English, English to Arabic)
- Experience with all Microsoft Office applications is a must
- Strong skills and interest in the analysis and revision of legal documents
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, follow-through, organizational and time management skills
- Team player and demonstrated ability to work and adapt in a cross-disciplinary, team-based environment and ability to work independently.
Preferable
- French oral, written and/or legal skills
- Experience or interest in legal technology
- Experience in working for clients based in United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain or Qatar
