Procurement and Contract engineer

Procurement Responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for the procurement of materials and equipment required for construction and fit-out projects.
Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and 
payment conditions.

Purchase Order Management:

Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with project requirements and company policies Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the reliability and quality of goods and services.
Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
Inventory Management:

Coordinate with the project team to manage inventory levels and ensure materials are available when needed.
Implement strategies to minimize waste and reduce costs.

Contract Management Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure terms are favorable and risks are minimized.
Ensure all contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
Contract Administration:

Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including contract execution, compliance, and closeout.
Monitor contract performance to ensure all parties meet their obligations.
Change Order Management:

Manage variations and change orders, ensuring that any changes in scope are documented, costed, and approved by all relevant parties.
Assess the financial and schedule impacts of change orders and negotiate with stakeholders accordingly.
Claims Management:

Identify, prepare, and submit claims related to delays, additional costs, or other contractual issues.
Resolve disputes with subcontractors, suppliers, or clients amicably and in the best interest of the company.
Risk Management:

Identify potential contractual and procurement risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure all contractual obligations are met to avoid financial penalties or legal issues.
Collaboration and Communication:
Project Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement and contract matters.
Provide support and guidance on procurement and contract issues to project teams.
Reporting:

Prepare regular reports on procurement and contract activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
Present findings and recommendations to management for decision-making.
 


Qualifications:Education: a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, architecture, or a related field.Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement and contract management within the fit-out field.Skills:Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficient in contract law, procurement practices, and risk management.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
