Job Overview: The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, storing, organizing, and tracking inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. Additionally, this role involves optimizing warehouse layout, ensuring quality control, order fulfillment, staff management, equipment maintenance, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Supervise all aspects of inventory management, including receiving, storing, organizing, and tracking inventory levels for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Warehouse Layout Optimization:
- Ensure optimized warehouse layout for efficient goods movement, increased space utilization, and reduced handling and transportation costs.
- Quality Control:
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with regulations. This includes conducting regular inspections, managing product recalls if necessary, and maintaining proper storage conditions to prevent damage.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to warehouse operations, as well as industry regulations for food handling and storage.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Oversee receiving, packing, and shipping of orders to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. This includes coordinating with other departments such as production and logistics to prioritize orders and meet delivery deadlines. Plan and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, to meet production schedules and customer deliveries.
- Staff Management:
- Supervise warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure staff adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and productivity standards.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Responsible for maintaining warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, ensuring proper operation and safety compliance. This includes scheduling regular maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.
- Cost Management:
- Work on optimizing operating costs related to warehouse activities, such as labor, utilities, and maintenance, while maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and other warehouse activities. Generate reports on key performance indicators such as inventory turnover, order accuracy, and labor productivity to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Actively seek opportunities to improve warehouse operations, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency by implementing best practices, new technologies, and automation solutions. Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Monitor warehouse performance metrics such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production, purchasing, and logistics, to coordinate workflows and resolve any inventory or order fulfillment issues.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse management or a related field.Strong knowledge of inventory management and distribution procedures.Proven ability to manage teams and achieve productivity goals.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Proficiency in warehouse management software and related tools (e.g., ERP, WMS, MS Office).Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to warehouse activities.Working Conditions:This position may require occasional travel to supplier sites or other company locations.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as needed to meet project deadlines.
