Mobile Application Tester – Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Mobile Application Tester to join our QA team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our mobile applications (iOS & Android) with a strong focus on API testing and end-to-end integration testing. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Application Testing
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for iOS and Android applications
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing on mobile builds
- Test across multiple devices, OS versions, and screen resolutions
- Validate UI/UX against design specifications and product requirements
- Conduct performance, load, and stress testing on mobile apps
- Test push notifications, deep links, background processes, and offline behavior
- Verify app behavior across network conditions (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, no connectivity)
API Testing
- Design and execute REST API test cases using tools like Postman
- Validate API request/response structures, status codes, headers, and payloads
- Perform positive, negative, and boundary testing on all API endpoints
- Verify authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth 2.0, API keys)
- Test rate limiting, throttling, and error handling behaviour
- Maintain and manage Postman collections scripts for automated API test suites
- Validate data contracts and schema consistency between API versions
Integration Testing
- Execute end-to-end integration tests between mobile app, backend APIs, and third-party services
- Validate data flow and communication between microservices
- Test payment gateway integrations, third-party SDKs, and external service APIs
- Verify webhook behaviors, callbacks, and event-driven flows
- Ensure consistency between app behavior and backend data (database validation)
- Collaborate with backend teams to trace and debug integration failures
Test Management & Reporting
- Write detailed bug reports with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, and logs
- Maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices in tools like YouTrack.
- Track, prioritize, and follow up on defects through to resolution
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives (Agile/Scrum)
- Generate and share QA reports with stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 3–5 years of experience in mobile application testing (iOS & Android)
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools: Postman.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML
- Experience with mobile testing tools: Xcode simulator, Android Studio emulator, real devices
- Familiarity with Fiddler for network traffic interception and debugging
- Understanding of authentication flows: OAuth, JWT, session tokens
- Experience with bug tracking tools: Jira, YouTrack, or similar
- Ability to read and interpret API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Knowledge of the SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with mobile test automation frameworks: Appium
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Experience with performance testing tools: JMeter
- Familiarity with SQL for backend data validation
- Experience testing financial, fintech, or data-heavy applications
- Understanding of WebSocket or real-time data testing
- Scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or Bash for test automation

المسؤوليات الرئيسية
اختبار تطبيقات الهاتف المحمول
- تصميم وتطوير وتنفيذ حالات الاختبار اليدوية والآلية لتطبيقات iOS و Android
- إجراء الاختبارات الوظيفية، واختبارات الانحدار، واختبارات الدخان (smoke)، واختبارات السلامة (sanity)، والاختبارات الاستكشافية على نسخ الهاتف المحمول
- الاختبار عبر أجهزة متعددة وإصدارات أنظمة تشغيل ودقات شاشة مختلفة
- التحقق من واجهة المستخدم/تجربة المستخدم (UI/UX) مقابل مواصفات التصميم ومتطلبات المنتج
- إجراء اختبارات الأداء والتحميل والإجهاد على تطبيقات الهاتف المحمول
- اختبار إشعارات الدفع (push notifications)، والروابط العميقة (deep links)، والعمليات في الخلفية، والسلوك أثناء عدم الاتصال بالإنترنت
- التحقق من سلوك التطبيق عبر ظروف الشبكة المختلفة (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi، وعدم الاتصال)
اختبار واجهة برمجة التطبيقات (API Testing)
- تصميم وتنفيذ حالات اختبار REST API باستخدام أدوات مثل Postman
- التحقق من هياكل طلبات/استجابات API، ورموز الحالة، والرؤوس (headers)، والحمولات (payloads)
- إجراء اختبارات إيجابية وسلبية واختبارات الحدود على جميع نقاط نهاية API
- التحقق من آليات المصادقة (JWT, OAuth 2.0, API keys)
- اختبار تحديد معدل الطلبات (rate limiting)، والتقييد (throttling)، وسلوك معالجة الأخطاء
- صيانة وإدارة نصوص Postman collections لمجموعات اختبارات API المؤتمتة

اختبار التكامل

- اختبار تكامل بوابات الدفع، وحزم تطوير البرامج (SDKs) التابعة لجهات خارجية، وواجهات برمجة تطبيقات الخدمات الخارجية
- التحقق من سلوكيات الـ webhook، والاستدعاءات (callbacks)، والتدفقات القائمة على الأحداث
- ضمان الاتساق بين سلوك التطبيق وبيانات الخلفية (التحقق من قاعدة البيانات)
- التعاون مع فرق الواجهة الخلفية لتتبع وتصحيح فشل التكامل
إدارة الاختبارات وإعداد التقارير
- كتابة تقارير مفصلة عن الأخطاء مع خطوات إعادة الإنتاج بوضوح، ولقطات الشاشة، والسجلات (logs)
- صيانة خطط الاختبار، وحالات الاختبار، ومصفوفات التتبع في أدوات مثل YouTrack
- تتبع وتحديد أولويات ومتابعة العيوب حتى حلها
- المشاركة في تخطيط العدو (sprint planning)، والاجتماعات اليومية، واجتماعات المراجعة (Agile/Scrum)
- إنشاء ومشاركة تقارير ضمان الجودة مع أصحاب المصلحة
المهارات والمؤهلات المطلوبة
متطلبات أساسية
- 3–5 سنوات من الخبرة في اختبار تطبيقات الهاتف المحمول (iOS و Android)
- خبرة عملية في أدوات اختبار API: Postman
- معرفة قوية بـ RESTful APIs، وطرق HTTP، و JSON/XML
- خبرة في أدوات اختبار الهاتف المحمول: محاكي Xcode، ومحاكي Android Studio، والأجهزة الحقيقية
- الإلمام بأداة Fiddler لاعتراض حركة مرور الشبكة وتصحيح الأخطاء
- فهم تدفقات المصادقة: OAuth, JWT, session tokens
- خبرة في أدوات تتبع الأخطاء: Jira, YouTrack، أو ما يعادلها
- القدرة على قراءة وتفسير وثائق API (Swagger/OpenAPI)
