Lead Piping Engineer
Work Location: Cairo, Egypt.
Responsibilities:
FUNCTIONALRESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with senior discipline piping engineers, designers and Cad Operators to ensure correct implementation of the project design and coordinates the work of project team to meet the project expectations. Prepares and reviews piping engineering studies, design drawings, calculations and documents, and material and equipment specifications. Resolves specialty related piping engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards. Analyzes problems and determines critical factors for investigation. Participates in the development of new mechanical engineering methods. Provides expert advice on design processes or construction methods. Approves significant changes in specifications and plans, work techniques and materials. Prepares progress reports and monitoring project controls. Determines and schedules work priorities. Recommends changes in plans and specifies estimated costs. Prepares piping engineering proposals estimates. Ensures quality plans are implemented. Promotes safety culture.
AUTHORITY/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical guidance to co-workers and project teams. Proposes staffing solutions and training and development opportunities. Provides input into performance evaluations and makes recommendations on staffing activities. Accountable for unit deliverables. Approves timesheets.
Requirements:
BS in Engineering and registered as a professional engineer with significant experience of minimum of 15 years. Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and is recognized as specialist in piping engineering field on large to mega projects. Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications. Excellent communication skills.
