Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing and controlling project costs during construction, ensuring projects remain within budget and providing accurate cost forecasts and financial reports.
Responsibilities:Review and certify contractors’ payment certificates and verify executed quantities. Monitor contractors’ cash flow, project budgets, commitments, and actual costs. Assess and monitor the cost impact of variation orders and additional works. Analyze and negotiate rates for unscheduled work items. Prepare cost forecasts, cost reports, and variance analysis. Monitor potential cost overruns, claims, and financial risks. Coordinate with Construction, Contracts, Planning, Quantity Surveying, and Engineering teams. Maintain accurate cost control records and support commercial decision-making.
Requirements:
B. Sc. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.15–20 years of relevant experience in cost control/cost management within construction projects. Strong experience in payment certification, variations, claims, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow. Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting, and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and cost control/project management systems. Site-based construction experience is essential.
