Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux & Database Infrastructure Engineer to drive the reliability, scalability, and performance of our mission-critical, large-scale telecom environment. In this high-impact role, you will transition from routine operational maintenance to architecting, optimizing, and managing high-availability database clusters, containerized environments, cloud virtualization, and enterprise Linux platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Administration & Optimization

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain high-availability relational database infrastructure (Oracle, PostgreSQL, GaussDB, or MySQL) in active-active/active-standby configurations.
  • Perform advanced database tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, table partitioning, and capacity planning.
  • Manage complex database backups, point-in-time recovery (PITR), disaster recovery (DR) drills, and multi-terabyte data migration projects under tight SLAs.

2. Cloud & Container Orchestration (OpenStack & Kubernetes)

  • Administer, scale, and troubleshoot enterprise OpenStack environments (compute nodes, Glance, Nova, Neutron networking, and Cinder storage).
  • Manage, configure, and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters and Docker container environments for microservice deployments.
  • Oversee container networking (CNI), storage interfaces (CSI), ingress controllers, and service meshes across hybrid infrastructure.

3. Enterprise Linux & Infrastructure Operations

  • Serve as the senior administrator for enterprise Linux platforms (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu Enterprise), including deep kernel parameter tuning, LVM management, and storage/SAN integration.
  • Perform L2/L3 incident handling, advanced system troubleshooting, and deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for platform outages.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and patching using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Shell scripting.

4. Advanced Networking & Security Integration

  • Configure and troubleshoot complex Linux networking stacks, including routing tables, VLAN tagging, bonding, iptables/firewalls, and Open vSwitch (OVS).
  • Manage system-level network security, SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, SSH hardening, and user access management (IAM/SUDO policies).

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on professional experience in Enterprise Systems Administration, Database Administration, and Infrastructure Engineering within large-scale production environments (Telecom experience preferred).

Technical Expertise

Advanced Linux Administration: Deep expertise in Linux CLI, systemd, kernel optimization, memory management, storage subsystems (SAN/NAS/NFS), and storage management.

Database Administration & SQL: Mastery in relational database management systems (RDBMS), SQL execution plan analysis, high availability (RAC/Data Guard/Replication), schema partitioning, and automated backup strategies.

Cloud & Virtualization: Strong hands-on experience managing OpenStack tenants/infrastructure and core virtualized components.

Container Orchestration: Direct experience building and managing Docker containers and production Kubernetes clusters.

Enterprise Networking: Solid grasp of TCP/IP, OSI layers, DNS, routing protocols, NAT/CGNAT, firewalls, and network troubleshooting utilities (netstat, ss, tcpdump).

Automation & IaC: Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python, and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).

Preferred Certifications (Highly Regarded)

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent RDBMS certification
