Network Engineer
Highlight: The Network Engineer holds an essential role at Living Stones Group (LSG). This position supports new and existing clients who work in a variety of industries. LSG is a global company that supports clients with remote and on-prem solutions.
Hours: This position is a full-time 40-hour per week (Monday to Friday), hybrid (primarily remote with scheduled office work in Cairo as needed). Work hours are during the afternoon and evening. This position also covers a minimum of one Sunday shift per month to monitor the service desk and respond to client needs. Comp time is provided for Sunday shifts.
Main Responsibilities for this Position:Develop and install network infrastructure, configurations, and equipment such as routers and switches. Implement data security systems like firewalls, virus protection software, and data backups. Perform routine network monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installing upgrades. Provide remote or on-site client and technical support by implementing solutions with proper documentation internally in LSG systems and externally with the client. Research and keep up to date with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols and apply standards and procedures to complete tasks. Ensure all technical protocols and procedures meet appropriate compliance standards. Demonstrate collaboration among colleagues and across teams to design, implement, test and document systems and processes for LSG and clients. Direct contact with LSG team members and clients located globally to provide technical support and project implementation. VoIP Support with knowledge of Polycom, Linphone, ATA, E-Fax and Free PBX server configuration.
Qualifications and Requirements:Language Skills Fluent and competent on a professional level, both verbally and written, in English and Arabic.
Technical Skills Working knowledge and experience with hardware and software configuration. Working knowledge and experience with data center infrastructure and remote work on all hardware. Proven work experience as a Network Engineer or similar role in network administration:Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP protocols, and VPNsExperience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools Proficiency in network security systems and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems) Ability to manage and coordinate workflows Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Education and Certifications Technical Certifications in:Microsoft 365 security administration Microsoft products Fortinet Fortigate Firewall Azure Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNA or similar are a plus Academic Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with team members.
Physical Ability Physical ability to lift equipment and perform on-site tasks in LSG and client offices and worksites.
