Job Summary Senior Quantity Surveyor – Electrical is responsible for the measurement, quantification, cost estimation, cost control, and financial reporting of electrical works throughout all project stages. The role focuses on pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities, including preparation and review of BOQs, cost plans, interim valuations, variations measurement, and final accounts for mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for electrical systems (power, lighting, ELV, and ICT) based on drawings, specifications, and BOQs. Review tender documents, identify discrepancies, and provide cost-related clarifications during the bidding stage. Develop cost estimates and budgetary studies for electrical works across different project phases. Evaluate contractors’ interim payment applications and verify quantities executed on site. Analyze variations, claims, and change orders related to electrical scope, with proper cost impact assessment. Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate cost control and scope alignment. Prepare and maintain cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project cost tracking dashboards. Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize electrical system costs without compromising quality or performance. Review and validate subcontractor quotations and provide technical and commercial recommendations. Ensure compliance with contract conditions, measurement standards, and company procedures in all QS activities. Conduct site visits to verify progress, quantities, and installation compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Support project close-out activities, including final account preparation and reconciliation of all electrical quantities and costs.
Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.7+ years experience in quantity surveying within electrical engineering projects. Strong experience in preparing BOQs, cost estimates, tender evaluations, and variation/claims analysis for electrical systems (power, lighting, ELV, ICT). Proficiency with quantity surveying and cost control software (e.g., Cost X, Bluebeam). Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
