About Valley Valley is a Linked In warm-outbound platform that helps sales teams find warm prospects, research them, and automate personalized outreach at scale. Used by bolt.new, UiPath, Stub Hub, and 400+ other startups. Growing 10% MoM over the last 12 months. 7 figures+ ARR.
The Role We're looking for a senior backend engineer who can take a rough product idea, turn it into a solid technical plan, and ship it to production. You'll work closely with our NYC-based engineering team and have direct impact on core product and infrastructure.
This isn't a "ticket factory" role. You'll do well here if you:Own problems end-to-end (not just the code) Think in systems (data, jobs, APIs, failure modes) Ship high-quality work with minimal hand-holding

What You'll DoOwn backend features end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, rollout, and follow-through Build and evolve APIs (Graph QL + REST), including schema design and performance Own data modeling and migrations in Postgres (Prisma), with strong correctness and reliability Build reliable background processing (queues/workers), integrations, and internal tooling Improve reliability, scalability, and developer velocity through pragmatic architecture decisions

Tech Stack + Architecture (Backend) Type Script monorepo (Nx) with separate services for API + background workers + scheduled/cron jobs Nest JS backend with Graph QL (Pothos) and REST endpoints Postgre SQL (Prisma) as the primary datastore Redis + Bull MQ for queues/background processing AWS infrastructure (e.g., EC2/S3) + Docker; integrations with Linked In + AI providers

What We're Looking For5+ years backend engineering experience (Node.js/Type Script) Proven track record shipping production features at a fast-moving startup Strong systems thinking: you can reason about end-to-end behavior and failure modes High quality bar: tests where it matters, careful reviews, and strong debugging skills Clear written communication in English (async-friendly)

Nice to Have Deep Postgres experience (indexes, query plans, migrations at scale) Graph QL schema design experience Competitive programming / strong algorithms background Open source contributions
