At Lamda X, we build AI-powered and Saa S-based enterprise solutions for the Saudi market. As we scale, we are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Manager who can lead execution, operate delivery at high tempo, validate technical decisions, and ensure we ship secure, scalable, production-grade systems.
This role is delivery-first (planning, execution, governance, and technical validation), with light strategic ownership where needed to keep the platform aligned with business goals.
Role Overview
You will lead engineering teams and own end-to-end technical delivery across web, mobile, and backend platforms. You will partner with Product and Leadership to translate business needs into executable plans, drive architecture and engineering standards, and ensure consistent quality, reliability, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, manage, and mentor software engineering teams, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative engineering culture.
• Own team execution and delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.
• Define team structures, roles, responsibilities, and capacity planning to support current and future delivery needs.
• Conduct regular technical and performance reviews, provide coaching, and support career growth for engineers.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, review discipline, and architectural governance across teams.
• Partner with Product Management to translate requirements into executable technical plans and delivery roadmaps.
Delivery Execution, Planning & Governance
• Own end-to-end technical delivery: design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
• Break down initiatives into epics and stories with clear acceptance criteria, dependencies, sequencing, and risk tracking.
• Identify delivery risks early and proactively drive mitigation strategies (scope, technical risks, staffing, timelines).
• Establish and track delivery, quality, and operational KPIs (lead time, defect rate, release success, availability, performance).
• Drive incident management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and operational readiness.
Architecture & Solution Design (Hands-on Validation)
• Architect and document scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions using modern patterns: microservices, modular monolith, layered architecture, event-driven, and serverless as appropriate.
• Lead microservices initiatives: service decomposition, inter-service communication (REST, g RPC, messaging), data ownership, and observability.
• Apply and enforce strong engineering patterns such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and clean boundaries; use CQRS when justified.
• Review and approve solution designs and code-level approaches, ensuring alignment with platform direction and production constraints.
Cloud, Dev Ops & Platform Engineering
• Drive cloud-native and hybrid solutions leveraging Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Work closely with Dev Ops teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and environment strategies support fast and reliable delivery.
• Promote infrastructure as code, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation best practices.
• Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring/alerting, and cost optimization.
API, Security & Identity
• Design and govern RESTful and event-driven APIs, ensuring security, scalability, observability, and lifecycle management.
• Architect authentication and authorization strategies using OAuth2, Open ID Connect, SAML, JWT, SSO, and third-party identity providers.
• Enforce security-by-design principles and secure development practices (secure SDLC, code scanning, reviews, threat modeling as needed).
• Align engineering delivery with cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements relevant to enterprise environments.
Business & Stakeholder Alignment
• Translate business strategy into actionable technical solutions and delivery plans.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Communicate architectural decisions, delivery status, and technical trade-offs clearly and effectively.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Continuously improve engineering processes, tooling, and delivery efficiency.
• Drive innovation while maintaining architectural stability and operational excellence.
Travel Readiness
• Be available to travel to Riyadh on short notice when business needs require.
Required Qualifications
• 8-12+ years in software engineering with proven ownership of delivery for production systems.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager, Head of Software, Tech Lead Manager, Solution Architect, or similar role with strong leadership and delivery ownership.
• Strong experience in enterprise environments; familiarity with the Saudi market is a plus.
• Strong hands-on technical foundation and ability to validate architecture and engineering decisions.
Core Technical Expertise
• Backend: . NET ecosystem and enterprise-grade development; scalable API and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Architecture: microservices, modular monolith, layered architecture, event-driven systems, Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Cloud & Dev Ops: Azure/AWS/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, observability.
• Frontend: React (or equivalent modern web stack) with strong engineering standards.
• Mobile: experience leading delivery of mobile apps (Flutter preferred; i OS/Android native is a plus).
• Data: SQL Server, data modeling, database design, and performance optimization.
• Security & Compliance: OAuth2/OIDC/SAML/JWT, secure SDLC, and familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and PCI DSS (as applicable).
Leadership & Execution Strength
• Strong people-management skills (mentoring, feedback, accountability, hiring, performance coaching).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including executive-level updates and decision framing.
• Delivery-driven mindset; comfortable working under pressure and committing to long working hours when needed.
• Comfortable working on-site in Egypt with strong operational discipline.
