The Senior Mechanical BIM Engineer at UCC Contracting is responsible for leading the BIM-based design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical systems across major construction projects. The role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring coordination accuracy, and compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local authority requirements. The position supports project teams from design through construction and handover, contributing to efficient execution, quality assurance, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development, coordination, and management of mechanical BIM models for large-scale construction projects in accordance with UCC standards and project requirements. Ensure mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) are fully coordinated with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. Review and approve mechanical BIM deliverables, shop drawings, calculations, and material submittals. Provide technical and BIM support to site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders during construction. Identify and resolve clashes and constructability issues using BIM coordination tools. Support planning, sequencing, and installation methodologies through BIM-driven workflows. Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with local authority regulations, international codes, and client specifications. Assist in testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems, including as-built documentation. Implement and maintain BIM standards, procedures, and best practices in line with UCC and project requirements. Mentor junior engineers and BIM modelers, enhancing team capability and performance.
Job Knowledge & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and MEP systems in construction projects. Advanced experience in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and Auto CAD. Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for high-rise, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments. Strong coordination, problem-solving, and construction support skills. Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, and client representatives. Minimum 6 years of professional experience in mechanical BIM or MEP construction roles.
