Job Summary The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services critical to business operations. This role leads supplier negotiations, develops sourcing strategies, ensures cost efficiency, and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to support operational and strategic goals. The Senior Buyer also mentors junior buyers and contributes to continuous improvement in purchasing processes.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with business objectives Manage supplier relationships, including selection, evaluation, performance reviews, and contract negotiations Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to achieve cost savings and value improvements Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and risk factors to support informed purchasing decisions Oversee purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services Collaborate with finance, operations, supply chain, and other departments to forecast demand and manage budgets Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field5–8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
