Egybell is hiring a Supply Chain & Agri-Procurement Expert for a leading trading company locted in Cairo.
Role Purpose
The Interim Supply Chain & Procurement Expert will represent the company in reviewing, validating, and challenging all supply-chain-related assumptions and designs underpinning the processed fruits and vegetables factory feasibility and technical study. The role will ensure that raw material sourcing, procurement strategies, cold chain logistics, inventory policies, and export logistics assumptions are realistic, resilient, and commercially viable for an export-oriented Free Zone operation.

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Sourcing & Procurement Strategy
Develop a high-level supply chain management plan to be used as an input for technical and financial studies Review sourcing assumptions for fruits and vegetables (origins, seasonality, volumes, pricing, quality variability). Validate procurement models (Agri-contract farming, traders, spot buying, mixed sourcing strategies). Assess supplier qualification, local and international food safety standards compliance, and traceability assumptions. Challenge yield loss, rejection rates, and quality variability assumptions embedded in the feasibility.
Inbound Logistics & Cold Chain Design Review inbound logistics flows from farms/suppliers to the factory, including lead times, cold chain requirements, handling risks, among others. Validate assumptions related to transportation modes, costs, and temperature control. Assess vulnerability to seasonality, weather, and supply disruptions.
Inventory & Storage Strategy Review cold storage sizing assumptions for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Validate inventory turnover assumptions, safety stock policies, and buffer strategies. Ensure alignment between production planning assumptions and cold storage capacity.
Export Logistics & Distribution Review export logistics assumptions (containerization, reefer containers, ports, shipping routes). Validate lead times, freight cost assumptions, and cold chain integrity through export corridors. Assess alignment with Free Zone regulations, customs procedures, and export documentation requirements.
Integration with Operations & Financial Models Ensure consistency between supply chain assumptions and operational capacity, production plans, and financial models. Challenge any disconnect between sourcing realities and proposed production volumes or margins. Coordinate closely with the Operations Expert and Financial Advisor to ensure end-to-end model integrity.
Consultant Management & Validation Review and challenge supply chain sections of the feasibility study and technical reports. Engage directly with external consultants to clarify, adjust, and improve supply chain assumptions. Provide structured validation and risk assessments to senior management.
Governance & Reporting Prepare clear supply chain risk assessments, recommendations, and mitigation strategies. Support Steering Committee and Board decision-making with concise, fact-based insights. Operate strictly within the approved governance and escalation framework.
Reporting Line Reports functionally to the Project Steering Committee / Board Works closely with the Technical Expert, Financial Advisor, Engineering Consultant, and Internal Project Team
Required Experience & Qualifications
10+ years of experience Extensive experience in agri-food supply chains in Egypt, with a focus on processed fruits, vegetables and perishable export businesses. Strong understanding of agricultural sourcing, seasonality risks, and procurement economics. Proven experience in cold chain logistics, export logistics, and international trade flows. Ability to challenge consultants and logistics providers using real market and operational knowledge. Familiarity with Free Zone operations and export-oriented manufacturing environments is an advantage.
