Job Details

The Senior Application Implementation Engineer is responsible for delivering complex payment application implementations and configurations for banks and fintech customers. The role requires deep technical expertise, independent decision-making, and ownership of critical implementation activities with direct impact on customer satisfaction, system stability, and delivery timelines.
Job Responsibilities:1. Solution Implementation & Ownership Own the implementation of medium to high complexity payment solutions across issuing and acquiring domains. Translate business and operational requirements into accurate application configurations and setups. Independently handle full implementation cycles including analysis, configuration, testing, and go-live support. Ensure implementations meet agreed scope, quality standards, and timelines.2. Technical Expertise & Problem Resolution Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for payment application configurations and transaction flows. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for implementation and production-related issues. Design and execute complex SQL queries and reports to support operational and business needs. Propose technical solutions and workarounds for system limitations or integration challenges.3. Stakeholder Interaction & Coordination Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation and pilot phases. Coordinate with internal teams (PMO, Operations, Support, Infrastructure, QA, Security) to ensure smooth delivery. Engage with vendors to resolve complex issues and follow up on patches, fixes, or enhancements. Communicate risks, dependencies, and progress clearly to management.4. Governance, Documentation & Quality Ensure compliance with internal implementation standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review implementation documents, configuration records, and handover materials. Contribute to improving implementation methodologies, templates, and best practices.5. Mentorship & Team Contribution Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior implementation engineers. Review team deliverables and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality. Support task estimation, workload planning, and knowledge transfer within the team.
Years of Experience/Education/Job Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.3–5 years in application implementation within banking, payment processing, or fintech environments. Hands-on experience in end-to-end application implementation, including:-Requirements analysis-System configuration-Testing (SIT, UAT)-Pilot and production go-live support Practical exposure to payment processing environments, including:-Issuing and Acquiring systems-Card transaction lifecycle (Authorization, Clearing, Settlement)-Experience working directly with:-Banks and fintech customers-Internal delivery teams (PMO, Operations, Support, Infrastructure)-External vendors (e.g., payment system providers) Strong background in:-Resolving complex implementation and production issues-Supporting change requests and system enhancements-Operating under tight timelines and high-delivery pressure environments Capable of performing effective log analysis and search to:-Identify errors, warnings, and performance issues-Trace transaction flows and application behavior-Support root cause analysis during incidents and go-live activities Experience working with large log files and multiple log sources across application and infrastructure layers. Ability to collaborate with infrastructure and support teams using log findings to accelerate issue resolution. High influence on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Proficient in using common Linux commands for operational support and troubleshooting. Direct impact on customer onboarding success, go-live stability, and delivery timelines. Reduces implementation risks and rework through technical expertise and proactive issue resolution. Handles multiple parallel implementations with varying levels of complexity. Deals with ambiguous requirements and evolving customer needs. Requires deep understanding of payment systems and transaction processing.
