Job Purpose:Responsible for preparing complex cost estimates, tender pricing, quantity take-offs, and commercial submissions for assigned projects. The role focuses on technical accuracy, pricing reliability, coordination with internal stakeholders, and supporting the Team Leader or Manager in delivering competitive and compliant tender submissions.
Main job duties and responsibilities:Prepare detailed quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Develop accurate project cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, and preliminaries. Review tender documents to identify scope gaps, technical risks, and commercial constraints. Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, and site teams to collect technical and cost inputs. Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure technical compliance with tender requirements. Prepare pricing breakdowns, cost summaries, and internal estimate reports. Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives under the guidance of the Team Leader or Manager. Assist in preparing commercial clarifications and tender submission documentation. Verify BOQs and quantities against drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain updated cost databases, rate libraries, and benchmarking information. Support bid evaluation reviews by providing technical and commercial analysis. Participate in tender review meetings and internal pricing workshops. Monitor material prices, labor rates, and market trends to support accurate pricing inputs. Ensure compliance with internal tendering procedures, quality standards, and documentation control requirements. Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job’s specialty.
Educational background and previous experience:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, or related field). Min. 5 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or commercial roles within the construction industry.
