Job Summary:The Site Technical Office Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the site team, ensuring that design drawings and specifications are properly implemented on site, coordinating with the main office technical team, and maintaining accurate project documentation. This role bridges the gap between site operations and the engineering/technical office.
Key Responsibilities:1. Drawings & Documentation: • Review and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings. • Coordinate with the technical office to receive approved drawings and update any revisions. • Ensure the latest approved drawings are available at site for execution.
2. Coordination: • Coordinate between the site, technical office, consultants, and subcontractors. • Follow up on technical queries (RFIs) and ensure timely responses from consultants or designers. • Ensure technical consistency between different disciplines (civil, MEP, etc.).
3. Site Support: • Assist site engineers in resolving technical issues. • Provide clarification to the execution team regarding specifications and standards. • Monitor on-site work to ensure compliance with drawings and project specifications.
4. Quantity Surveying & BOQ: • Assist in preparing and reviewing quantities take-off. • Validate materials consumption on site against the BOQ. • Assist with updating material logs and tracking usage.
5. Reporting & Documentation: • Maintain proper technical records of drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and method statements. • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed for technical activities. • Participate in progress meetings and document decisions/changes.
6. Quality Assurance: • Ensure that the works are executed in accordance with project specifications and codes. • Follow up on inspections and non-conformance reports (NCRs). • Assist in preparing method statements and inspection requests.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent. • 3–5 years of experience in technical office or site engineering roles. • Proficiency in Auto CAD, MS Office (especially Excel), and project management software (Primavera/MS Project). • Familiarity with construction codes and standards. • Strong understanding of shop drawing preparation and coordination.
