Job Title: Supply Chain Director Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Location: Cairo, Egypt Department: Supply Chain Job Purpose The Supply Chain Director will lead and optimize all supply chain operations for a table glassware manufacturing company that primarily exports its products. This role ensures efficient management of raw material and finished goods warehouses, overseas industrial and packaging procurement, production planning, and manages logistics to meet global customer demands. The position requires strong industrial experience and a strategic mindset to support the company’s export-driven business model. Key Responsibilities1. Warehouse Management Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures for raw materials and finished goods. Ensure accurate inventory control through regular audits and ERP system updates. Optimize storage layouts to reduce handling time and improve space utilization. Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, especially for export commitments. Implement safety and compliance standards for material handling and storage.2. Procurement (Industrial & Packaging) Define procurement strategies for industrial materials and packaging supplies to support production and export requirements. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers for cost-effective sourcing. Establish long-term supplier relationships and monitor performance against SLAs. Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays. Monitor market trends and raw material price fluctuations to optimize purchasing decisions.3. Production Planning Develop master production schedules based on confirmed export orders and sales forecasts. Coordinate with manufacturing teams to align production capacity with demand. Monitor production progress and adjust plans to meet delivery deadlines. Implement planning tools and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with quality control to ensure compliance with international standards.4. Logistics & Export Operations Design and manage logistics strategies for efficient transportation of goods to international markets. Select and manage freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers. Ensure compliance with export documentation, customs regulations, and trade laws. Optimize shipping routes and costs while maintaining delivery timelines. Track shipments and resolve any delays or issues proactively.5. Strategic Supply Chain Management Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the company’s export growth objectives. Monitor and analyze KPIs such as inventory turnover, procurement lead times, and logistics costs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Implement risk management strategies for supply chain disruptions.6. Leadership & Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team to achieve departmental goals. Foster cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Finance, and Production teams. Represent the supply chain function in executive meetings and contribute to strategic decisions. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). Minimum 15 years of experience in supply chain roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within an industrial/manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of export operations, international logistics, and customs regulations. Expertise in production planning, procurement, and warehouse management. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain management tools. Key Competencies Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
