Job brief :A professional Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up & running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Responsibilities:●Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’sspecialized role.●Design and implement a database in accordance to end users’ information needs andviews.●Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in the appropriate formatand in a timely manner.●Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.●Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast queryresponses. Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users.●Skilled in writing and optimizing SQL & MySQL queries, handling developerrequests, and improving performance and efficiency.●Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.●Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity.●Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches andversions when required.●Collaborate with development, IT, and Dev Ops teams to enhance data solutions.
Requirements and skills:● 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a 24/7 environment.●Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications●Familiarity with managing databases on both Windows and Linux systems.●Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, MySQL and SQL●Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding●Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.●Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.●Excellent documentation and communication skills.●Basic to intermediate knowledge of cloud database services and architectures, with familiarity in managing databases in cloud environments.●BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification.
