About the Role We???re building a next-generation Fin Tech platform inspired by the leading players in the market (Fawry, Halan, Paymob, Val U), and we???re looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead the full technology roadmap. This is a software engineering leadership role focused on building scalable financial products ??? not an IT or infrastructure position. The ideal candidate has deep experience with payments, transactions, wallets, banking integrations, and modern distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities Technical & Architectural Leadership Design and scale high-availability Fin Tech systems (payments, collections, disbursements, wallets). Build and own a microservices-based, event-driven architecture capable of handling high-volume financial transactions. Develop secure and scalable APIs and integrations with banks, PSPs, and payment processors. Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle across backend, frontend, mobile, Dev Ops, and QA teams. Fin Tech Product & Platform Development Build core Fin Tech modules, including:Digital Wallets Transaction Engine Settlement & Reconciliation KYC/AML onboarding Fraud & Risk Monitoring Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, AML/KYC, GDPR, and open-banking standards. Team Leadership & Execution Lead and grow a high-performance engineering team. Drive sprint planning, delivery timelines, and technical decision-making. Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and Business teams to define and deliver product features. Security, Reliability & Cloud Infrastructure Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure) and ensure system resilience. Implement strict data security, encryption, access control, and monitoring. Maintain CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops processes, and production stability.

Required Qualifications Must-Have10+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years in technical leadership (Head of Engineering / Tech Lead / Engineering Manager). Proven experience in Fin Tech / Payments / Wallets / Digital Banking platforms. Strong background in:Microservices Distributed Systems High-volume transactional systems Message brokers (Kafka / Rabbit MQ) API Design & Integrations Hands-on experience with backend languages (Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Go, or similar). Solid cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Strong understanding of PCI-DSS, KYC, AML, and financial compliance. Nice-to-Have Experience with open banking APIs. Previous work in the Egyptian or GCC Fin Tech ecosystem. Experience with fraud detection systems.
