Purpose of the position
To be responsible for creating and implementing plans that help company achieve its goals. To develop strategies, determine material and labor costs, monitor crew performance, ensure health and safety regulations are obeyed, and that communications channels are open.
Role Description
- To determine and develop the most suitable and economically viable construction and engineering methods for projects.
- To estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met.
- To ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies are sufficient.
- Drawing plans; using specialized design software packages.
- Ensuring plans meet the project specifications.
- Collaborating with site managers, surveyors, engineers, site worker and other professionals.
- Organizing the transportation of materials.
- Ensuring procedures are carried out safely.
- Monitoring and tracking project progress, and writing up reports.
- Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgets.
- Making estimations for timescales and costs.
- Supervising the project at all stages and providing solutions to problems.
- Provides enough flexibility to accommodate developing and rising needs within the role.
Academic & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or similar field.Proven experience 5-8 years.Proficiency in MS Office.Personal CompetenciesStrong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong multitasking abilities.Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilitiesAttention to details.Planning and project management skills.A sound understanding of safety protocols.Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
