Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Lead and manage the quality control team in evaluating and testing electronic devices throughout the production process.
  • Implement and monitor product testing protocols, including functionality, durability, safety, and performance testing.
  • Ensure that all products meet the required specifications and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Process Improvement:

  • Develop and execute quality control processes that improve efficiency, reduce defects, and streamline product flow.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence of quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Continuously assess production processes and recommend improvements to minimize errors and defects.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of product quality assessments, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective action plans.
  • Generate regular quality control reports for management, highlighting trends, issues, and areas of improvement.
  • Ensure all required certifications, quality documentation, and regulatory standards are adhered to.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Supervise, train, and develop the QC team to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Set clear expectations and goals for team members and monitor their performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis sessions for quality issues, and work with teams to implement solutions.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to address any quality concerns and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure that materials and components meet required quality standards.
  • Assist the production team with troubleshooting and resolving production-related quality issues.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with industry quality standards, such as ISO 9001, IPC standards, and any other applicable regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in quality control for electronic devices.
  • Ensure timely audits and assessments to maintain quality certifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control management within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies and techniques (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, etc.).
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and industry-specific standards (ISO, IPC, etc.).
  • Proficient in using QC tools and software, such as statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and other testing equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing teams and projects in an electronics production environment.
  • Familiarity with automated testing and measurement systems used in electronics.
  • Certification in quality control or related areas (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Quality Engineer Certification).

Required Skills & Qualifications:Education:A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Professional certifications in quality control (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are a plus.Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance, preferably within the electronics or manufacturing industry.Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is required.Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of quality control standards, methods, and tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, DOE).Proficiency in electronic testing equipment, inspection tools, and software.Experience with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and corrective actions.Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC, ISO, and UL.Soft Skills:Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.Effective communication skills to interact with all departments and suppliers.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Software Proficiency:Experience with quality management software (e.g., SAP, Minitab, QDAS).Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Attention to Detail:Ability to identify and resolve quality issues, with a keen eye for detail and precision.Knowledge of Regulatory Standards:Familiarity with international regulatory standards, including those for electronic devices (e.g., RoHS, CE, FCC, UL).Preferred Skills:Master’s degree in a related field or a recognized quality management certification (e.g., CQE, CQM).Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.Prior experience in managing large teams or overseeing multi-site quality control processes.
