Role Statement: The Wholesale Banking Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end project delivery within the wholesale or corporate banking domain. This role requires a combination of functional expertise in wholesale banking products and services, along with technical knowledge to oversee the implementation of technology solutions. The individual will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget while meeting business objectives.
Key Objectives (KPIs):
1. Project Management:
Lead and manage multiple wholesale banking projects (trade finance, cash management, treasury, lending, payments).
Develop and maintain project plans (timelines, milestones, resource allocation).
Identify and mitigate risks, track issues to resolution.
Coordinate with cross functional teams and external vendors.
Ensure projects meet scope, timelines, budget, and regulatory requirements.
2. Functional Expertise:
Act as SME on wholesale banking products (lending, syndication, cash management, payments).
Collaborate with business teams to define requirements.
Ensure solutions align with business needs and regulatory standards.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT.
3. Technical Oversight:
Collaborate with IT to implement technical solutions (core banking, middleware, payment integrations).
Ensure adherence to best practices in architecture, development, and integration.
Oversee testing (UAT, SIT) to meet functional and quality standards.
4. Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the main contact for senior management, business units, IT teams, and vendors.
Communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders.
Conduct stakeholder meetings to review objectives and progress.
5. Change Management and Training:
Lead change management, ensuring teams are informed and trained on new systems.
Provide support during and post project implementation.
6. Vendor and Budget Management:
Manage vendor relationships and ensure alignment with project goals.
Track project budgets and expenses for cost efficiency.
7. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Identify improvement opportunities in programs and vendor management.
Generic:
Maintain documentation for accountability and monitoring.
Build strong relationships with executives, business lines, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with bank policies and quality driven delivery across projects.
