Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing both self-pay and insurance billing processes efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of medical billing procedures and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and submit claims to insurance companies following billing guidelines and requirements.
- Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits.
- Investigate and appeal denied claims as necessary.
- Answer patient and insurance inquiries regarding claims and billing issues.
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and financial information.
- Stay up-to-date with insurance regulations, payer policies, and industry trends.
- Provide support and training to staff regarding billing and coding issues.
Requirements:· Proven experience as a Medical Biller, preferably in a healthcare setting.· Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and coding (ICD-10)· Familiarity with insurance guidelines and requirements for different payers.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.· Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).· Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is preferred.Education: Bachelor's DegreeAdditional education or certification in Medical Billing and Coding is a plus.Proficiency in M.S. applications
