About the Role
As a Pantry Category Buyer for noon KSA, you will own the commercial performance and end-to-end supplier relationships for a portfolio of pantry brands and vendors. You will be responsible for growing the category by expanding selection, improving availability, negotiating competitive commercial terms, and delivering sustainable revenue and profitability. You will use data and market insights to identify customer needs, selection gaps, pricing opportunities, and performance improvement areas. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders (including Category Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Product) to translate commercial plans into a stronger customer proposition. This role requires strong commercial judgment, analytical capability, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of ownership, build productive supplier partnerships, and contribute directly to the growth of noon’s Pantry business in Saudi Arabia. This position is based in Cairo, Egypt, supports noon’s Pantry business in Saudi Arabia, and reports to the Senior Category Manager within the FMCG business.
What you’ll do:
Manage and grow a portfolio of pantry brands and suppliers, developing strong commercial relationships and joint growth plans. Own the category’s revenue, margin, profitability, selection, availability, and inventory performance. Expand selection by identifying and onboarding relevant brands, suppliers, and SKUs that address customer needs and category gaps. Negotiate trading terms, funding, rebates, marketing investments, and promotional support to improve category economics. Improve availability and fill rates by working closely with suppliers and internal supply chain teams to reduce stockouts and strengthen supply reliability. Monitor inventory health, weeks of cover, ageing stock, and sell-through, taking timely action to manage excess or slow-moving inventory. Ensure competitive pricing by regularly reviewing market benchmarks and working with suppliers to close pricing gaps. Plan and execute promotional campaigns, seasonal events, and deals in partnership with suppliers and internal marketing teams. Lead regular supplier business reviews, sharing performance insights and aligning on growth opportunities and corrective actions. Track supplier commitments, claims, rebates, and promotional funding, ensuring accurate and timely collection. Analyse category and supplier performance using Excel, SQL, dashboards, and other analytical tools, translating insights into clear commercial actions. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve the customer experience, operational execution, and overall performance of the Pantry category.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in buying, category management, account management, vendor management, or a related commercial role. Familiarity with the FMCG industry and GCC market is required, with direct knowledge of the Saudi Arabian market strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated commercial and negotiation capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience in e-commerce, online retail, FMCG, grocery, or the pantry category. Experience managing supplier negotiations, promotional plans, inventory, and category profitability. Familiarity with analytical and reporting tools such as SQL, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI. Knowledge of the Saudi Arabian retail and FMCG market. Arabic language skills are an advantage. Strong customer focus, ownership, and bias for action.
