About the job Plant Manager
Our client, a leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead its manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full operational and financial accountability for the plant, including production output, cost control, and capital expenditure planning.
- Develop and execute production plans that meet demand while optimizing labor, material, and utility costs.
- Ensure the plant operates in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for cosmetics/personal care manufacturing and all applicable Egyptian regulatory requirements (Ministry of Health, industrial licensing, environmental permits, etc.).
- Oversee quality processes in coordination with corporate QA and QC to ensure product consistency and compliance.
- Lead and develop plant department heads and staff across production, maintenance, facility, and warehousing.
- Manage recruitment and performance planning for key plant roles in coordination with HR.
- Provide regular operational and performance reporting to the Board and leadership team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, efficiency gains) across the plant.
- Ensure robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices and full compliance with local labor and industrial law.
- Manage relationships with local suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies in Egypt.
- Prepare and manage the plant's annual budget and capex proposals, and track performance against targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 5 years in a Plant Manager role.
- Experience in FMCG, cosmetics, personal care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing strongly preferred, ideally in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-department teams (typically 50+ employees).
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Strong leadership and people management, budgeting ownership, strategic and operational planning, lean manufacturing, and sound judgment under pressure.
