About Qartas

Qartas is building a mobile platform that helps teachers prepare assessments, review student answers, grade efficiently, track results, and manage their classes.

We are looking for a React Native Developer to build and maintain our mobile application for Android and iOS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Qartas application using React Native and TypeScript.

• Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, reliable mobile interfaces.

• Integrate the application with our FastAPI backend through REST APIs.

• Implement authentication, navigation, state management, loading states, and error handling.

• Build camera capture, image preview, local storage, and file-upload workflows.

• Ensure proper Arabic and right-to-left layout support.

• Diagnose bugs and improve application performance and stability.

• Test critical user flows and participate in code reviews.

• Prepare development and production builds for Android and iOS.

• Use agentic coding tools and workflows to plan, implement, test, debug, and improve features efficiently.

• Collaborate with the product, backend, and AI/ML teams.

Requirements

Requirements

• At least two years of practical React Native experience.

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Experience developing applications for Android and iOS.

• Experience with React hooks, navigation, state management, and REST API integration.

• Ability to use agentic coding tools effectively throughout the development workflow, including task planning, code generation, debugging, testing, refactoring, and documentation.

• Ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on it without verification.

• Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Ability to work full-time on-site in Cairo.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Expo and EAS Build.

• Experience with camera functionality, image uploads, and local storage.

• Experience supporting Arabic or other right-to-left applications.

• Experience publishing applications to Google Play or the Apple App Store.

• Familiarity with FastAPI, Python, databases, or backend API development.

• Experience integrating agentic development workflows into team-based software projects.

• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and code-quality tools used alongside AI-assisted development.
