Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Private Tutor. The Private Tutor will provide one-on-one or small-group online tutoring sessions, following agreed lesson plans and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs and abilities of each learner. Daily tasks include preparing instructional materials, explaining concepts in clear and accessible ways, assigning and reviewing practice work, and monitoring learner progress. The tutor will communicate regularly with learners and, where appropriate, parents or guardians to share updates, set goals, and address challenges. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of sessions, adhering to company policies, and using digital tools and platforms to deliver engaging, interactive learning experiences. Qualifications Strong subject-matter knowledge in one or more academic areas (e.g., mathematics, sciences, languages, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science) and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Demonstrated skills in lesson planning, educational material preparation, and adapting teaching strategies to different learning styles. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, constructive feedback, and culturally sensitive interaction with diverse learners. Proficiency with online teaching platforms, video conferencing tools, and basic digital classroom management. Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and maintain organized records of learner progress and session outcomes. Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring in an educational setting is preferred. Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a degree program in education or a relevant subject area is an advantage.
