Job purpose:
The Mechanical Works Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all mechanical works on site to ensure works are carried out safely, according to the specified schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and approved drawings. The role includes managing workforce productivity, monitoring progress, solving site problems, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Main responsibilities:

Supervise and manage daily mechanical works including: HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), sanitary and plumbing, fire protection, and power supply and drainage works.
Ensure all works are executed according to approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, and QA/QC requirements.
Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and foremen to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Monitor labor distribution, equipment usage, and material availability to ensure site operations efficiency.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, verify quality, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Troubleshoot field issues and technical challenges and resolve any clashes between mechanical systems and civil or electrical works to avoid delays in execution.
Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and implement safety procedures for all site personnel.
Prepare and present daily progress reports to site management.
Contribute to planning site activities, sequencing works, and identifying potential risks or delays.
Review and track quantities of completed works for invoicing, material requisitions, and project documentation.
Monitor testing and commissioning of mechanical systems prior to handover.
Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of experience supervising mechanical construction works.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and sanitary systems and on-site execution standards.
Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and mechanical plans, and material and equipment specifications.
Good leadership and communication skills, with problem-solving ability.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks on site.
Good understanding of safety systems and quality control procedures.
