Role Summary
The Customer Data Operations Specialist serves as the primary technical and operational bridge between our customers and our team and internal data systems. You will act as the dedicated custodian of customer data, managing system setups, executing complex data transformations, and ensuring all client requests are handled with absolute precision. This role requires a unique blend of advanced Excel wizardry, Business Intelligence (BI) proficiency, and exceptional client communication skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced, flat team environment where you can dive deep into data and manage client relationships, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Management & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for dedicated customer system management and ongoing requests.
- Manage the client ticket queue from end to end: plan, execute, follow up, and officially respond to customers upon completion.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with clients via text, email, and phone calls to clarify requirements and provide updates.
2. Data Operations & Excel Management
- Receive raw customer data (e.g., sales targets, pricing updates, salesperson-to-customer allocations) and utilize advanced Excel functions to clean, organize, and deduplicate it.
- Perform VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs and data mapping to align client data with internal system codes, ensuring it is perfectly formatted and loadable.
- Lead critical, high-impact data events including year-start system setups, price updates, target adjustments, and exchange rate configurations.
3. System Administration, BI, & Ad-Hoc Analysis
- Build, configure, and maintain customer data structures within the core system.
- Act as a BI Super User, leveraging BI tools to analyze data trends, validate system outputs, and make minor configuration changes or reports as needed.
- Fulfill ad-hoc data and analysis requests: Quickly generate custom data pulls, ad-hoc reports, and deep-dive analyses to help answer specific customer business questions.
- Collaborate with internal Data Specialists to coordinate large-scale system changes, while remaining hands-on with daily data tasks.
4. Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Own the Quality Assurance (QA) process: thoroughly check, review, and test all data uploads, custom reports, and system changes to ensure zero errors before client delivery.
- Document everything: Create and maintain meticulous logs of all system builds, ongoing changes, process workflows, and incidents.
