Role Description The Head of Mechanical Production – Pharmaceutical Sector is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm 2nd 6 October. This role leads the mechanical production function for pharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring compliance with GMP and relevant regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and overseeing mechanical production activities, optimizing processes, and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and operations teams to ensure reliable equipment performance and product quality. The role manages production schedules, allocates resources, monitors output and downtime, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs. The Head of Mechanical Production will also lead and mentor production teams, support budget planning, manage production-related documentation, and collaborate with project management on new installations, upgrades, and capacity expansion.
Qualifications

Strong production leadership skills, including experience in Production Planning and Production Management within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Operations Management, with a proven ability to optimize workflows, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to GMP and safety standards. Demonstrated Team Management capabilities, including supervising cross-functional teams, coaching team members, and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Experience with Budgeting and cost control, including forecasting, monitoring production costs, and supporting capital expenditure planning. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced certifications in pharmaceutical manufacturing or GMP are an advantage. Solid understanding of mechanical systems used in pharmaceutical production (e.g., process equipment, utilities, packaging lines) and their maintenance requirements. Proven track record in project coordination or project management for production line upgrades, new equipment installation, or capacity expansion projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and KPIs to drive performance and decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, quality, maintenance, and HR teams. Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and compliance, with experience implementing and sustaining related policies and procedures.
