Roles & Responsibilities
The Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology at the German University in Cairo (GUC) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a faculty position in Electronics Engineering department.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a research group in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT).
- Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer organization, control theory, micro controllers, real time systems, Embedded C, CPS and IoT.
- Supervise undergraduate, master's, and PhD students.
- Engage in research collaborations with industry and international academic institutions.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the advancement of the department.
- Secure research funding through grants and industry partnerships.
- Participate in university service and administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with focus on CPS, Embedded Systems and IoT.
- Strong research track record with publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Industrial experience in hardware/software co-design of CPS and IoT.
- Professional skills in C/C++, Embedded C and python.
- Experience in developing hands-on labs using platforms like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
- Deep experience in edge computing, distributed sensing and IoT implementation.
- Candidates with experience in CPS security and Physical AI will be given preference.
- Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to solve challenging cross-functional problems in a team environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a strong research background and industrial experience in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and hardware/software co-design of distributed embedded systems for use in Internet of Things (IoT). This should include system architecture, modelling, verification, implementation and security.
