The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science (EMS) invites applications for a full-time academic position at the rank of Lecturer or Associate Professor in the field of Computational Materials Engineering, within the Department of Materials Engineering.
Position Summary:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in simulation, computational methods, and design
- Develop and modernize courses using industry-relevant simulation tools
- Supervise student projects in simulation-driven engineering design
- Conduct high-impact research in computational materials and manufacturing
- Contribute to curriculum development with emphasis on digital engineering
- Collaborate with industry in applied simulation and design projects
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications Required
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on computational modeling/simulation
- Strong background in finite element methods and engineering simulation
- Demonstrated experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven research record with publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to integrate simulation tools into teaching and student projects
- Experience in additive manufacturing modeling is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and teaching skills
