Alkaffary Group is looking for a Head of Inventory Finance to lead and oversee all financial aspects of inventory operations. Reporting to the CFO, this role focuses on ensuring accurate stock valuation, seamless reconciliation between physical and financial records, and providing strategic financial analysis to optimize inventory assets within the Retail
Key Responsibilities
Lead the inventory finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Develop and implement robust inventory accounting policies and procedures in line with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) Oversee inventory valuation (FIFO, WAC), reconciliations, and adjustments to ensure accuracy across financial statements Ensure regular reconciliation between physical stock and SAP system records, investigating and resolving variances promptly Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to inventory aging, provisions, and obsolescence Identify risks and opportunities related to inventory finance and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance margins Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, including Segregation of Duties Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance inventory tracking and financial accuracy
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is highly preferred3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing inventory, with a strong background in accounting and inventory control Proven experience in the Retail industry is essential Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ERPs, with SAP experience preferred Deep understanding of inventory accounting principles, costing methods, and financial reporting standards Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional coordination Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to corporate governance and audit processes
