Senior Architect (Project-Based, 3 Months) — Silicon Valley International School (SVIS) Location: New Administrative Capital, Egypt | Start: Immediately
SVIS is urgently hiring a full-time Senior Architect on a 3-month, project-based contract to fast-track campus upgrades from concept to tender-ready packages and to supervise the final finishes on-site through handover: high-impact, clear milestones, rapid decisions.
What you’ll do
Supervise and oversee final on-site finishing stages (the snagging process):1. Ensure the finished work matches drawings, specs, and quality standards.2. Check paint touch-ups, misaligned doors, chipped tiles, loose fittings, incorrect sealant, visible gaps, scratched glass, missing accessories, minor MEP issues (e.g., loose sockets, leaking traps), etc.3. Walkthrough inspection (client/architect/site engineer).4. Log each issue with location, description, photo, and the responsible party.5. Assign deadlines and track rectification.6. Re-inspect and close items.7. Enable final acceptance and payment releases/retention handling.
Lead design for classrooms, labs, admin areas, library, circulation, and outdoor learning spaces. Run rapid site assessments; ensure compliance with codes, life-safety, and accessibility requirements. Produce concepts, space plans, finishes palettes, and 3D visuals; iterate weekly with stakeholders. Deliver coordinated drawings and tender packs (plans, sections, details, BOQs, schedules). Coordinate with structural/MEP, interiors, and contractors; resolve clashes and RFIs quickly. Manage a compressed schedule with weekly progress and risk reports. Support vendor shortlisting and technical evaluations during tendering.
What you bring B. Arch/M. Arch 5–12+ years’ experience (education/public buildings preferred). Strong portfolio from concept to delivery; excellent technical detailing and site supervision exposure. Advanced Revit + Auto CAD; Enscape/Twinmotion/Lumion and Adobe CC a plus. Solid knowledge of Egypt codes, approvals, and fire/life safety. Clear communicator who thrives on fast iteration, tight timelines, and on-site coordination.
Contract & pay Full-time, fixed-term: 3 months (possible extension). On-site 40–48 hrs/week Salary: Negotiable
