Organizational Context and Scope


The Migrant Protection and Assistance Unit at IOM Egypt contributes to enhancing migration management and governance in Egypt through specialized protection-related capacity development for relevant Government authorities, multisectoral coordination through community engagement to promote localization and facilitating safe, orderly, and regular migration through a rights-based approach. Upcoming interventions, include addressing irregular migration through increased access to information on safe migration utilizing community-based approaches and youth ambassadors to raise awareness about the risks and dangers of irregular migration whilst promoting safer alternatives to it, including entrepreneurship and marked-driven skills in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET)


Under the overall supervision of the Head of Migrant Protection and Assistance Unit (PXD) and direct supervision of the Senior Programme Assistant, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of the counter smuggling and trafficking activities under the Empowering Youth: Addressing Irregular Migration and Fostering Skills Development project, within the framework of COMPASS Migration Parnership Fund (MPF), funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and implemented by IOM Egypt. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of other activities and thus support the operations of the wider PXD portfolio.
