Job Description: Operations Engineering - Process Support & Administration 

 

Job Overview 

The Business Analyst / Process Support Engineer supports and coordinates the execution of multiple operational processes across Operations Engineering projects in Amazon fulfillment centers. They manage process administration, quality assurance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with Amazon's policies and best practices across Building Information Modeling (BIM) Administration, Change Request (CR) Management, Lessons Learnt (LL) Management, and Cost Discipline Management. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Building Information Modeling (BIM) Administration: 

  • Manage BIM 360 permissions and onboard Ops Engineering Team and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Vendors 
  • Attend and coordinate Post-Contract BIM Kick-Off meetings with all stakeholders (General Contractor (GC), Operations Design Team (ODT), MHE, Amazon Robotics (AR)) 
  • Request and review BIM Execution Plan (BEP) responses from MHE vendors in coordination with Ops Eng BIM Manager 
  • Review first MHE model submissions for compliance (2D/3D native and federated models, naming conventions, coordinates, file formats) 
  • Conduct routine reviews of BEP drafts and model submissions 
  • Perform end-of-stage reviews to ensure MHE Vendors meet requirements 
  • Collect and document lessons learned to improve Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and BIM deliverable quality 

Change Request (CR) Management: 

  • Provide ad-hoc support to project Managers (PMs) in pre-execution and execution phases 
  • Conduct quality checks on every CR created 
  • Coordinate with Global Procurement Organization (GPO) to organize bundle CR analysis and ensure stakeholder support matches vendor due dates 
  • Organize coordination calls and ensure appropriate stakeholder attendance 
  • Support improvement initiatives for current BIM 360 processes 
  • Maintain Change Management dashboard governance 
  • Conduct weekly office hours to resolve user questions 
  • Ensure closure of CR loops by tracking repeated CRs and updating MHE vendor baseline requirements 
  • Coordinate with CR Management and Lessons Learnt workstreams to maintain clear connections with cost management 

 

Lessons Learnt (LL) Management: 

  • Monitor progress of lessons learned per team in Operations Engineering to ensure proper closure 
  • Conduct sanity checks on resolutions (verify specification updates, validate action items completion) 
  • Track due dates and team assignments for all open lessons learned 
  • Support dashboard integration and maintenance for Leadership Team visibility 
  • Provide tool expertise including setup of automation rules and workflows 
  • Manage task organization and project structure optimization 
  • Support Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration for automated raising of new lessons learned 
  • Develop and implement AI-powered extraction of relevant lessons learned from project data 
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for integrated status reports and customized lessons learned reports 

 

Cost Discipline Management: 

  • Maintain Capital Allocation Request (CAR) database, pulling data from cost cloud tool or approved CAR into excel database (actual vs approved CAR budget) 
  • Maintain Value Engineering (VE) database, intercepting VE for Leadership Team Milestones (LTMs) and CAR White Papers (WPs) 
  • Track budget expenses and support PMs for data completeness 
  • Provide CAR benchmarking support and reference site information 
  • Ensure CR loop closure by tracking repeated CRs and adding to MHE vendor baseline requirements 
  • Work closely with CR Management and Lessons Learnt workstreams to maintain clear connection with cost management 

 

Reporting and Documentation: 

  • Maintain daily/weekly progress reports in Asana and update tracking systems 
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Amazon Ops Eng team 
  • Document observations and lessons learned in appropriate systems 
  • Prepare status reports and dashboards for leadership visibility 
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and tools
