Job Details

The Mechanical Tender Engineer is responsible for preparing and submitting competitive mechanical tenders through accurate cost estimation, BOQ development, vendor coordination, and technical compliance review, ensuring profitability and maximizing bid success.



  • Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements to define mechanical scope of work.

  • Study process documents (MEP PACKAGE) to ensure accurate technical understanding during pricing.

  • Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and prepare RFIs, clarifications, and deviation lists.

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from mechanical drawings and tender documents.

  • Prepare comprehensive mechanical cost estimates covering equipment, piping, steel structures, labor, T&C, and subcontract works.

  • Develop, validate, and review BOQs in compliance with tender requirements.

  • Ensure pricing reflects current market rates and aligns with company margin targets.

  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors (technical & commercial).

  • Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets and bid analysis reports.

  • Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve competitive and commercially sound proposals.

  • Prepare mechanical technical proposals, method statements, and required bid documentation.

  • Ensure full compliance with project specifications, standards, and contractual obligations.

  • Participate in bid strategy, pricing reviews, and commercial risk assessments.

  • Support final tender submission, client negotiations, and project handover upon award.

  • Develop and maintain a structured database of cost data, supplier pricing, and historical tender information to support accurate future estimation.

  • Document lessons learned from submitted and awarded tenders to enhance pricing strategies and risk assessment practices.

  • Continuously update knowledge of market trends, material prices, industry standards, and technological advancements to improve tender competitiveness.

Skills

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English and Arabic.


·       Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software for mechanical design and review.


·       Advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications and engineering analysis tools.


·       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for technical and commercial decision-making.



  •       Effective interpersonal and coordination skills for collaboration with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
