Position Summary
The Senior Technical Design Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed and optimized cable designs for LV, MV, and potentially HV projects in accordance with customer specifications and international standards. The role ensures technical feasibility, production alignment, and cost-effective design execution for awarded projects and tenders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cable constructions based on customer specifications and standards (IEC, BS, VDE, UL where applicable).
- Optimize cable design to achieve target O.D., weight, and cost without compromising electrical and mechanical performance.
- Review customer technical specifications and provide optimum design.
- Prepare and issue technical data sheets, construction drawings, and calculation sheets.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Quality to ensure manufacturability of designs.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as IEC 60502 and related specifications for LV/MV cables.
- Provide technical clarifications to customers when required.
