Job Purpose :

To oversee and develop the university's scientific journals, ensuring compliance with international academic publishing standards, enhancing journal ranking and indexing, and managing editorial and administrative operations efficiently.

| Duties & Responsibilities |

 Develop and implement a strategic plan to enhance the quality, visibility, and indexing of the university's scientific journals. 2.  Supervise Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Board members to ensure compliance with academic policies and publishing ethics. 3.  Oversee manuscript submission, peer-review, and publication processes according to recognized international standards  Ensure adherence to publishing and indexing requirements (e.g., Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, Crossref, COPE, etc., where applicable)  Manage relationships with reviewers, researchers, and authors locally and internationally.   Prepare periodic performance reports for university leadership, including publication metrics and acceptance rates

7 Supervise journal management systems (e.g., OJS) and ensure proper technical and operational functionality.

 Develop and update editorial and peer-review policies in line with international best practices  Propose marketing and outreach strategies to increase journal visibility and citation rates Manage the allocated budget for journal operations and control related expenditures

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience :

 Master's degree or higher in a relevant academic field  Minimum of 3 years of academic experience in higher education or research institutions  Proven experience in managing or serving on the editorial board of scientific journals  Strong knowledge of academic publishing standards, ethics, plagiarism policies, DOI systems, and indexing requirements   Experience with journal management systems such as OJS  Demonstrated administrative and leadership experience Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
